Mojo Memo
It’s not often that two of your best employees decide within the same week to pursue careers outside of the fitness industry in two wholly different directions. But that’s what happened last month when Kirsten Hopkins and Jacki Reisinger decided that June, 2008 would be the beginning of a new venture in their lives.
Kirsten wants to take her fitness coaching/personal training expertise further into the medical field to pursue a career as a clinical specialist. She tells us it will take her 18 months of training to get up and really going, and we wish her the best. I’m still not quite used to seeing her as “member Kirsten” and not “employee Kirsten”. Now I work for her rather than the reverse!
Jacki’s new path is a lot different. Her husband Jesse has just significantly expanded his landscaping business, and Jacki is going to help him in his new entrepreneurial endeavor. I’m not sure she will be doing any lawn cutting as the new CEO, but as Leighann and I cleaned the toilets each night when we first opened Momentum, you will do what you have to do in a new business.
Kirsten and Jacki have both reviewed their personal training client list with Leighann and Carol, and we are confident that their clients will continue to receive the training services they need and deserve to maintain their fitness programs.
The other change for June was expected... for Deb Orlando is expecting her third child shortly. Deb has done well in guiding the establishment of our Weight Loss Revolution program, and will be handing over the reins to Charlene Hinish as Momentum’s Nutrition Director. Please join me in congratulating Charlene in her new, expanded role.
It’s never easy to replace good employees, but I’m sure our remaining 35 staff members are up to the challenge.
In her exit interview, Jacki told me “ I never thought I would ever leave Momentum”. Well, in 1975 I never thought that I would leave the B.F. Goodrich Company, nor would I expect to wear sweats everyday to work, but I’ll save that “moving on” story for another time...
Best of luck to both ladies, and we will miss your dedication to the Momentum mission.
